Rule 27
Work, Duties and Powers of the Standards and Accreditation Directorate
In addition to the work, duties and powers mentioned elsewhere in the Act and this regulation, the work, duties and powers of the Standards and Accreditation Directorate shall be as follows:-
(a) To prepare the minimum standards of infrastructure necessary for the establishment of educational institutions and the operation of educational programs,
(b) To formulate minimum standards regarding the qualifications of teachers,
(c) to work on teaching methods and technology, (d) to prepare criteria for evaluating the quality of medical education,
(e) Accreditation of programs of universities and institutes conducting medical education,
(f) Preparing standards for institutions, courses, quality etc. in the field of medical education (g) Granting permission to those who wish to go for higher level training in medical education including study abroad and fellowship,
(h) to implement the decisions of the Commission or Committee.
